This morning I started my London Barge painting in Acrylic.

I wanted to get the basic under painting done before

 I took it to my Art Group to work on tomorrow.

This is the painting so far.

Paints used Cerulean Blue, Paynes Grey and Yellow Ochre
Painted on a box canvas.12"x12"

My recent paintings have been executed in watercolour in my attempt to master this medium
I do not find it easy having been used to the more forgiving mediums of Acrylic, pastel and oils where mistakes can be obliterated and worked over.
this is my most recent effort.

I am quite pleased with certain parts of it but still feel I have more to learn.
My next painting will be in Acrylic, another painting of one of my favourite subjects, the London Barges.

As this is my first attempt at a blog I am feeling my way and hopefully will not make too many mistakes.
I have been painting since the late1970s with a gap of a good few years until I picked up my brushes again in the 1990s, mostly in Pastel,oils, Acrylic and recently in watercolour.
I found water colour the most difficult to master of all the mediums as it so unforgiving of mistakes.

I attend a weekly group with like minded people (no tutors) everyone does their own thing and also help each other when asked.
I find this suits me very well as I do not like to be regimented.
